Social justice and equality matter
Matters of inclusion and exclusion produce unequal outcomes (including poor wellbeing), which are often concentrated among minoritized ethnic groups. We need to tackle these issues for promoting inclusion and fairness.
Research must make a difference
Our work has policy/practice impact and contributes to understanding of how we can promote inclusivity and wellbeing across different ethnic groups.
Coproduction and responsiveness are vital
Meaningful engagement with people and local communities at the centre of our project will be a cornerstone of our work. We will work co-productively with people with lived experience, involving them as co-researchers and resourcing ongoing Voice Forums. Projects will generate user benefits through applied/empowering knowledge, skills, capacity building and raised awareness.
Inclusion
The project will be working alongside local communities from diverse backgrounds. Our project therefore needs to be inclusive to their needs, both in the focus of our work but also in how we talk about and disseminate it. Our research will be co-designed with this in focus.
